TECH SAVVY 2019 – SCIENTISTAS

Join us for the 4th annual Tech Savvy Conference for 6th – 8th grade girls in Sarasota and Manatee County Schools on Friday, June 7, 2019, 8:00 a.m.– 2:30 p.m. at State College of Florida – Science Building #25 and #26.
This fun filled day of hands-on laboratory experiments is designed to develop girls’ interest and self-confidence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

FOR GIRLS  This year middle school  girls will don lab coats and safety goggles as they experience four unique laboratory experiments in the areas of Anatomy and Physiology, Marine Science, Chemistry and Biology led by women scientists at the State College of Florida. This year Tech Savvy has an experimental theme and will be hosted by the State College of Florida Science Department in Bradenton, Florida.

FOR PARENTS
Parents can join their daughters for lunch, and a tour of the State College of Florida campus with information on how to help girls on the path to college and a career.  The afternoon will conclude by joining their daughters for the final laboratory experiment of the day and a closing session for all participants with closing remarks from State College administrators, door prizes and give-a-ways.
